Privacy policy
How Borehole Drilling Johannesburg handles personal information from borehole enquiries, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Who we are
This website is operated by North Point Digital, which is the responsible party for the personal information collected through this website, as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). Our Information Officer is registered with the Information Regulator of South Africa, and handles questions and requests about personal information.
Our registration details and public contact details are not published here yet; when they are confirmed, they will appear on this page and on the contact page.
What we collect
When you submit the enquiry form, we collect your name, your phone number and/or your email address, your suburb, the service you need, and the message you write. We also record the page you sent it from, the date and time, any campaign tags in the page address, your browser's user-agent string and the country your connection comes from, so that we can manage enquiries and prevent abuse.
We do not ask for your ID number, bank details or passwords, and we ask you not to include them in your message.
Why we collect it
We use your information for one purpose: to pass your enquiry to a borehole contractor who covers your area, so that they can contact you about it. We may also use it to follow up on the enquiry, to deal with a complaint, or to meet a legal obligation.
We process your information on the basis of your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box on the form, and because it is necessary to act on your request. You may withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect processing that has already taken place.
Who we share it with
We share your enquiry details with the contractor or contractors we pass it to. Contractors are independent businesses and become responsible parties for the information once they receive it.
Our website and form are hosted on Cloudflare, which stores enquiries on our behalf as an operator. Cloudflare may process data outside South Africa; we rely on its contractual safeguards for that transfer. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for marketing.
Analytics and cookies
With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, which pages and enquiry routes are useful. It is optional: a banner asks you to allow or reject it, nothing is sent to Google until you allow it, and you can change your choice at any time with the Privacy choices link at the foot of each page. Your choice is stored in your own browser.
The enquiry form's security check is provided by Cloudflare Turnstile, which helps keep automated spam out.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records only for as long as we need them for the purpose above, or as required by law. After that, records are deleted or de-identified. We do not publish a retention period here yet; when the retention schedule is set, it will be stated on this page.
How we protect it
Enquiries are sent over an encrypted connection and stored in an access-controlled data store. Only people who need the information to pass on or manage your enquiry can see it. If we become aware of a security compromise affecting your information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
Water data is not collected by this website
We do not receive or store borehole yield results, water test results or site plans. Any water testing is arranged between you and the contractor, and the results are yours.
Your rights
You may ask whether we hold your personal information and for a copy of it, ask us to correct or delete it, object to its processing, and withdraw your consent. To exercise any of these rights, send your request through the contact form and mark it for the Information Officer. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page. Last updated: 13 October 2026.
